ICI Australia Forms Asian Division

ICI Australia today announced it has formed an Adhesives and Resins Asian Division to pursue opportunities in the fast-growing wood panel business in Asia.

Mr Patrick Hanrahan, previously Adhesives and Resins business manager for Australia and New Zealand, has been appointed division general manager Adhesives and Resins Asia.

"ICI Australia is a leading supplier of adhesives and resins in Australia and New Zealand where standards for wood panels are among the highest in the world," said Mr Hanrahan.

"Based on our reputation for quality in a very exacting market we've been approached by companies within Australia and Asia to establish manufacturing capabilities to supply their Asian operations.

"As the product has a limited shelf life which doesn't lend itself to export, it's a logical progression to tap our market potential by basing ourselves close to current and potential customers."

ICI Australia has already established manufacturing capabilities for resins in Indonesia and China.

Mr Hanrahan said, "The new division will expand our existing presence and actively pursue new opportunities for growth."
