Orica Announces Dulux Expansion

Orica Limited (formerly ICI Australia) today announced the investment of $16m to expand Dulux's decorative paint making facility in Rocklea, Brisbane.

The investment in fully automated filling and packaging equipment and a new modern warehouse will improve productivity and provide the additional capacity required to meet the projected growth of the decorative paint market.

Dulux managing director, Russell King said "This investment further demonstrates Orica's commitment to its consumer businesses and reinforces Dulux's commitment to Rocklea as our principal Australian manufacturing site for decorative paint.

"This is the latest in a series of investments aimed at developing Rocklea into a world class paint manufacturing facility," Mr King said.

The project is expected to be completed early in the year 2000.
