Orica welcomes the announcement by the Federal Government that Australia does not have the capacity to dispose of our Hexachlorobenzene (HCB) stockpile.

This announcement is the first step in approval to export the waste to Germany for destruction. The German authorities will now be asked by the Australian Government to approve the import of the waste under the Basel Convention. Once the import to Germany is approved the Australian Government can formally consider an export permit.
