Orica acquires Keith Harris Flavours and Fragrances

Orica Limited today announced the continued expansion of Chemnet’s specialty distribution business with the acquisition of Keith Harris Flavours and Fragrances from KH Foods Limited for $14.5 million (effective 1 February 2005).

Keith Harris Flavours and Fragrances is a specialised manufacturer and supplier of flavours, fragrances and colour additives to the food, beverage, cosmetic and industrial industries. The business has been operating since the 1930’s and has an excellent reputation in the marketplace for high quality products and customer service.

Orica Managing Director and CEO Malcolm Broomhead, said that the acquisition is a further extension of Chemnet’s food and fragrance business into new high value product areas that complement Bronson and Jacobs’s portfolio.

As part of the acquisition arrangements, Chemnet has also entered into a long-term contract to supply flavours, colours and other ingredients to the bakery businesses of KH Foods Limited.

The General Manager of the business, Karen Ferguson, will remain with the business.
