| Orica announces resumption of Ammonium Nitrate production 12 December 2011 Orica has today announced the resumption of ammonium nitrate production from its Kooragang Island site following the successful re-start of some of the Nitric Acid and Ammonium Nitrate Plants at the site over the weekend. Site Manager, Sean Winstone said, "We have worked over the weekend to restart one of each of the Nitric Acid and Ammonium Nitrate Plants "We took our time with the start-up. Our primary focus was to ensure that the start-up of each plant was completed safely. Now that we have successfully restarted these plants, we have resumed production of ammonium nitrate and have begun to distribute this to customers in the Hunter Valley. As we continue re-start activities on the remaining Nitric Acid and Ammonium Nitrate Plants, our production volumes will steadily increase," he said. Pre start-up testing on the Ammonia Plant is continuing. The Ammonia Plant remains closed subject to the lifting by the OEH of the Prevention Notices issued in August 2011.
