Orica recorded an elevated level of SO2 which spiked at around 3000ppm and stayed above the 1000ppm limit for approximately 15 minutes. This averages as a release of 595ppm and does not constitute a breach of license. It was reported to the EPA as a precaution.
Orica is investigating the cause of the reading. There was no harm to the community, the plant or the environment from this elevated reading.
