Update: Orica to begin clean up of resident properties

Following the incident at the Orica Kooragang Island site, Orica will today begin a full clean up of all properties in the area affected by the incident where contamination may have occurred.

In line with the ‘Clean Up Notice’ issued to Orica from the Office of Environment and Heritage, Orica will be inspecting all properties in the area and working with residents to identify and remove contamination.

Further independent testing confirms that there is low risk to the community and Orica encourages all concerned residents to go to the the NSW Department of Health website for additional information:

Orica continues to focus on responding to all community and staff concerns and encourages residents in the EPA defined affected zone to call the Orica help line for more information, or to discuss having their property included in this clean up.
